Chicken Hut

First, delivery was far faster than anticipateda pleasant surprise.

We ordered the whole chicken with extra pita. We also ordered mashed potatoes and cole slaw, as well as dessertrice pudding and Elis cheesecake.

Lets just say this: Elis is a Chicago standard that everyone loves. Its consistently good. And it was the most lackluster part of the meal from Chicken Hut.

Which is to say: this meal was outstanding. The chicken was spatchcocked and cooked to perfection. The rub used is flavorful without being overwhelming. The white meat is so moist I suspect a marinade is also usedbut if not, that rubs flavor permeates in a lovely fashion. The meat is aromatic and flavorful from skin to bone. Delicious!

The pita is fresh and hot and tasty, too. The potatoes seemed to be fresh rather than reconstituted and the gravy (which I usually eschew) has all of that gorgeous chicken flavor. Very, very good.

And the cole slaw was pretty darn good, too. As was the rice pudding.

I like roast chicken and can find 1000 ways to do it myself, so I would not have expected this to be a place Id envision as part of my delivery repertoire. But, I would have been wrong, wrong, wrong.

This will be a go-to on dont-feel-like-cooking nights.

I've been going here since they opened back in the late '80s or early '90s... I forget which, and had been so used to their cash-only policy for so long that I was surprised to find them here. I saw another reviewer compare them to rotisserie chicken from Whole Foods... they are much better than that, but only a wee bit more expensive... the breast meat can be a bit dry, but the salsa will fix that. My only critique is that you can't order more than one extra salsa...

Yayyy Chicken Hut is FINALLY online! I will enjoy their delicious AF food wayyy more frequently now that I can order online and pay more conveniently.

The chicken is consistently hot, fresh, juicy and delicious. They deliver at lightening speed, the order is always accurate and packaged neatly, and the value is great for the price with their whole chicken special. An awesome lighter option for takeout!

Id picked up chicken hut before but this was my first time with delivery. I got a whole chicken, corn on the cob, and coleslaw. Order arrived correct and hot!! Super fast, no issues at all with delivery. This is my fav place to order from. The chicken, even the white meat, was deliciously juicy!!

I moved outside the Chicken Hut delivery radius a few years ago (their drivers used to bike to deliver) so I was so excited when it popped up! Just as amazing as I remember.

Very good clean chicken. Recommend!
